randy moss is da best
Nate Burleson had 9 TD catches last year. So if TD catches are the only stat that matters, and based on your question it clearly is, he is waaaaaaaaayyy better than both of them.
I think Wes Welker is a great wideout…and not just because people are double teaming Randy Moss. Most of Welker’s yardage comes right up the middle, as opposed to long throws deep.
He’s very small, yet is one of the highest-rated receivers in terms of yardage gained after catches and in passes caught. That’s good, considering he often barrels through heavy traffic up the middle to earn the extra yards. Tom Brady doesn’t heave up a 50-yarder every time, and when it comes right down to it, Moss and Stallworth don’t excel in short yardage situations like Welker does.
He may not be the most highly-rated, but I see no reason to list him as overrated – he performs a task for the Patriots that is crucial to their success, and value to the team should always be a factor in ratings. He is of high value to a very good team, so why shouldn’t he enjoy top billing?
He’s great at what he does. He’s a slot receiver, and although he isn’t the fastest, he is very agile. He’s also smaller than alot of other receivers, and it’s amazing to see him, snag the ball, and grind every single yard out of it that he can (I think he’s ranked first for most yards after reception in the league). He takes hits from guys a lot bigger than he is, and doesn’t flinch of drop to the ground to avoid the big hit. He gets the extra yard, or foot, or inch and takes the hit.
