we need a "brand", most of a boats value is in the motor, if the engine is from 1978, it’s worth about $1.49….Stay away from it, you’ll spend your whole summer fixing it up for much more than the boat is worth.
$1000. You are better of buying a simple aluminum 16 ft boat with a 15-35 hp tiller motor that is a little newer. Boats are prone to breaking down, so you can easily stick more that $1000 into the boat if something goes wrong.
